Mother and daughter fell out after Nancy talked about her daughter on a television show and they were estranged for ten years. Nancy also went on to write a book "From Mother and Daughter to Friends - A Memoir".
Aniston was devastated by the death of her long time therapist whose work helped make her separation from Pitt easier.
